He wrote and popularized a number of well-known fairy tales in 'Tales of Mother Goose' (Contes de ma mère l'Oye), including versions of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood. Perrault gave literary form to these tales and helped establish the modern fairy tale genre in France and across Europe.
