Peter Christen Asbjørnsen (1812–1885) and Jørgen Moe (1813–1882) were Norwegian writers and collectors of folk tales. Together, they compiled "Norwegian Folk Tales" (Norske Folkeeventyr), a collection of traditional Norwegian fairy tales and legends. Their work, similar to the Brothers Grimm in Germany, preserved Norwegian oral storytelling traditions and included beloved tales such as "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" and "East of the Sun and West of the Moon".
