About Peter Christen Asbjørnsen

Peter Christen Asbjørnsen (15 January 1812 – 5 January 1885) was a Norwegian folklorist and writer, known for collecting Norwegian folktales together with Jørgen Moe. Their efforts helped preserve oral tradition and strengthened Norwegian national identity during the 19th-century romantic nationalist movement. Asbjørnsen's collections have had lasting importance for Nordic literature and folklore studies.
