Munro Leaf (4 December 1905 – 21 December 1976) was an American children's book author and illustrator, best known for 'The Story of Ferdinand' (1936). His accessible style and humor made his books popular with both children and adults, and several of his works have become classics. Leaf often collaborated with illustrators and his books are characterized by simplicity and warmth.
