Luna in Space
It is night. Luna is a little astronaut. Her suit is soft. Her helmet glitters. Teddy sits in her lap. The window is round. Outside, stars blink. Luna waves. She says: Hello, space!
The rocket goes whoosh, whoosh. The rocket goes boom, boom. We start now. We fly softly. We fly slowly. The sky is black. Our blue planet grows small. Stars are like tiny lamps. Luna smiles. Teddy smiles.
On a blue-green stone, someone waits. It is Pip. Pip is round and green. Pip has three small eyes. Pip waves a big wave. Pip laughs: Beep-beep! Luna laughs: Hello, friend!
They play in the light. They jump on moon dust. The dust is soft like a feather. They draw tracks. They find a ring of ice. The ring glitters like sugar. They spin slowly. They count: one star, two stars, three stars. So many stars.
Pip has a bag with moon cookies. Luna has juice from the sun. They share. One for you. One for me. We wait. We listen. We are kind. They sing a song. The song is quiet and warm.
Now the night is big. The rocket is like a bed. The blanket is soft. Teddy is near. Pip holds Luna's hand. Luna says: Good night, star. Good night, moon. Good night, little Pip. Good night, little earth.
Their eyes get heavy. The rocket whispers whoosh, whoosh. Space rests. The heart rests. Everything is calm. Good night.
